Community Programs
The Philadelphia Orchestra extends its reach into the community on an ongoing basis with the goal of being an active, energetic, and musical participant in the lives of area residents, organizations, and community partners. This is often accomplished through ensemble performances, individual musician visits, and speaking engagements.
Each summer The Philadelphia Orchestra performs free outdoor concerts in neighborhoods around the Philadelphia region as part of its Free Neighborhood Concert Series. The program also includes small-ensemble community concerts, school visits, volunteer work, and related events in a focus neighborhood, where the Orchestra has the potential to make a significant contribution to the revitalization of the community.
